Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Drop & Play for?

Drop & Play is designed for children ages 3–5 who are ready for a small-group, hands-on learning and play experience.

How long is Drop & Play?

Each Drop & Play session is four hours and includes garden exploration, science and early math play, art and early literacy activities, lunch, and reading time. Drop off times are typically from 8:00-8:15. Pick ups begin at 11:30 and end at 12:15.

What should my child bring?

Children should arrive in comfortable clothes appropriate for messy and outdoor activities. Please send a labeled water bottle, a change of clothing, diapers or pull ups if necessary. Comfort items are welcome. Please leave personal electronics at home.

Do you accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions?

At this time, Drop & Play does not accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Lunch and snacks may be served as part of the experience, and we are unable to guarantee an allergen-free environment or prepare individualized meals.

If your child has a food allergy or dietary restriction, please contact us before booking so we can discuss whether Drop & Play is an appropriate setting for your child.

What if my child has a severe allergy?

Because we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or accommodate individualized dietary needs, families of children with severe or life-threatening food allergies should contact us before registering. We will discuss the specific circumstances and determine whether we can safely accommodate your child.

Will my child's photo be taken?

We may take photos or videos during Drop & Play to document activities and share the fun with participating families. Your child's image will only be used for public-facing marketing or social media if you have provided photo/media permission.

Photo permission is optional and will not affect your child's ability to participate.

What if I don't want my child photographed?

That's completely fine! Simply decline photo permission during registration. We will make reasonable efforts to ensure your child is not included in photographs or videos intended for public use.

Does my child need to be potty trained?

No. We welcome children at different stages of toileting.

Our caretaker is happy to provide reasonable bathroom assistance when necessary, including helping a child with clothing, handwashing, or other basic bathroom needs.

Children who are fully diapered or fully potty trained generally require less bathroom assistance than children who are in the process of potty training. If your child is actively potty training, please let us know so we can better understand their needs.

Can you change diapers?

Yes. If your child is still in diapers, our caretaker can provide routine diapering assistance. Please send an adequate supply of diapers and wipes labeled with your child's name.

What if my child has an accident?

Accidents happen! We'll handle them calmly and respectfully. Please send a complete change of clothes in your child's bag in case of spills, water play, gardening, or bathroom accidents.

What if my child needs more assistance than expected?

Our goal is to provide a warm, supportive environment while maintaining appropriate supervision of the entire group. If your child's needs require a level of one-on-one care or assistance that we cannot reasonably provide while caring for the group, we will communicate with you to determine the best approach.

Can my child bring a comfort item?

Absolutely. A small comfort item can be helpful, particularly for children who are new to Drop & Play. Please label personal belongings.

What happens during lunch?

Lunch is part of our four-hour experience and is followed by a quieter reading period. Please review our allergy and dietary policy before registering, as we are not currently equipped to accommodate individual dietary restrictions.

What if my child gets upset or doesn't want to participate?

That's okay! Children don't have to participate in every activity. We encourage exploration and provide opportunities for children to observe, take breaks, or engage in activities at their own pace.

If your child is having a difficult time settling in, we'll comfort and support them and contact you if we feel they need additional support. If the child cannot adjust after 15 minutes of uninterrupted crying, we will ask that they be picked up for their own emotional wellbeing.

What if my child gets sick?

For everyone's safety, children who are sick or experiencing symptoms that meet our illness policy should remain home. If a child becomes ill during Drop & Play, we will contact their parent/guardian for pickup.

Why do I have to sign so many waivers?

For families participating in October 2026, Drop and Play is in the midst of producing all necessary documents to operate at the scale which we wish to grow to. This means that during October and November months, Drop and Play is not yet a fully incorporated business, permits are pending, and insurance is being underwritten. These waivers are to inform the parent, and protect our growing business during this sensitive time.

We appreciate your business and support during our establishment and growth period. We anticipate being fully licensed and insured in 2027.

Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: 1 Sept 2026

Drop & Play is committed to making our website and services accessible and welcoming to as many families as possible.

We strive to provide an inclusive experience for children and families of varying abilities and needs, and we are continually working to improve the accessibility and usability of our website.

Website Accessibility

We aim to make our website accessible and easy to navigate by following generally recognized accessibility practices, including the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

We work to ensure that our website includes:

  • Clear and readable text

  • Descriptive headings and links

  • Keyboard-friendly navigation where possible

  • Alternative text for meaningful images

  • Sufficient color contrast

  • Accessible forms and registration processes

  • Compatibility with commonly used assistive technologies

Because accessibility is an ongoing process, some areas of our website may not yet be fully accessible.

Accessibility at Drop & Play

We want every child to have the opportunity to participate in Drop & Play. Because our activities take place in a private residential setting and often involve gardening, sensory play, art, movement, and other hands-on activities, accessibility may vary depending on the activity and a child's individual needs.

If your child has a disability, developmental difference, sensory need, mobility limitation, dietary restriction, or other accommodation need, please contact us before booking so we can discuss your child's needs and determine how we can best support their participation.

We will make reasonable efforts to provide accommodations when possible and appropriate.

Need Assistance?

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our website or registration process, or if you need an accommodation to participate in Drop & Play, please contact us.
